At Fonio, a rapidly growing European leader in AI phone agents for SMBs, the Financial Accountant role is integral to the Operations and Finance team based onsite in Vienna. This position supports Fonio's financial integrity as it scales its product offerings and market presence.
The Financial Accountant will transition accounting responsibilities from an external provider to an internal function, managing day-to-day accounting tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and bookkeeping. They will oversee monthly and year-end closes, statutory filings, and revenue recognition, particularly for complex usage-based models across multiple markets. The role also involves multi-entity accounting, including intercompany transactions and consolidations as new entities launch, and requires establishing robust accounting policies and controls.
Candidates should have 4 to 7 years of accounting experience, ideally combining audit firm training with tech or SaaS company exposure, and hold relevant qualifications like ACCA or CPA. Proficiency in Austrian GAAP and confidence in handling audits and technical accounting matters are essential. Familiarity with subscription revenue recognition, multi-entity consolidation, and modern finance tools is advantageous.
