About the role
At LiveKit, a company developing infrastructure for voice-driven computing, the Revenue Accounting Manager role is integral to managing complex revenue streams tied to credit-denominated and consumption-based billing models. The position involves owning the entire Order to Cash cycle, including contract review, revenue recognition, and billing processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards. The team supports high-profile clients and handles billions of calls annually, emphasizing precision and scalability in financial operations.
Day-to-day responsibilities include authoring revenue accounting policies, managing monthly revenue close activities, overseeing external audits, and automating billing-to-revenue reconciliations to achieve high invoice accuracy. The role requires governance of billing accuracy, dispute resolution, accounts receivable, and collections processes. The manager also reviews non-standard deals for accounting implications and handles commission capitalization under ASC 340-40, working closely with sales and finance teams in a remote setting within the United States.
Candidates must be licensed CPAs with experience in high-growth startups and deep knowledge of ASC 606, particularly with usage-based revenue. Strong technical writing skills and hands-on experience with monthly revenue closes and audits are essential. Familiarity with billing systems like Stripe or Zuora, SQL skills, and pre-IPO audit experience are advantageous. LiveKit offers a competitive package, flexible vacation, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in a fully remote work environment.
