Accounting Manager, General Ledger & OPEX

HappyRobot, a Y Combinator-backed enterprise AI platform, develops autonomous AI workers capable of decision-making and operational tasks across global systems. The company is expanding its finance team and seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to establish core financial processes. This role involves designing scalable systems for multi-entity consolidation, automating manual tasks, and ensuring compliance for external audits, all within a fast-paced, innovative environment.

The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end month-end close, develop policies for general ledger management, and implement automation tools, including AI finance solutions. They will work closely with the Head of Accounting, making strategic decisions on GL and operational policies, and managing reconciliation processes between feeds and the ledger. The role requires a hands-on approach and strong judgment in automation and process improvement.

This position is full-time, hybrid based in San Francisco, and offers autonomy to design and execute financial processes from scratch. Candidates should have 6-8 years of experience in general ledger and OPEX, with a focus on multi-entity or international consolidation. Familiarity with foreign currency translation, intercompany accounting, and AI tools is essential, along with a proactive mindset and excellent communication skills.
