Director, Engineering

Tekion Corp is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead its Chennai-based software development group focused on innovative automotive retail solutions. This leadership role manages two agile teams along with shared technical experts, guiding a diverse group of software professionals working on server-side, client-side, machine learning, and quality assurance projects. The position requires close partnership with product leaders in the US and coordination with platform teams to deliver cutting-edge cloud services.

The role involves overseeing project timelines, managing inter-team dependencies, and establishing rigorous engineering practices such as modular architecture and AI integration standards. The director will also be responsible for talent acquisition, mentoring, and performance evaluation to foster a collaborative and accountable work environment. Engaging in technical design discussions and resolving complex system challenges are integral to this position.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in software development and leadership, with a strong background in Java-based distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with multiple database technologies and event-driven systems is important.
