Senior Counsel - Product & Privacy

Together AI is a research-driven company focused on advancing AI infrastructure by integrating software, hardware, algorithms, and models. The Senior Counsel role sits within the legal team and partners closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Security, Infrastructure, and Sales teams. This position supports the development of AI products and infrastructure by providing legal guidance on product terms, privacy, export controls, and intellectual property matters, ensuring compliance while enabling innovation.

Day-to-day responsibilities include advising on legal issues related to AI infrastructure such as model hosting, data use, and licensing. The role involves building privacy programs compliant with global regulations, conducting privacy-by-design reviews, and managing data protection agreements. Additionally, the counsel will develop export control compliance programs and support patent strategy by collaborating with research and engineering teams. The position requires drafting legal documents, creating playbooks, and offering practical guidance on emerging AI regulations.

Candidates must have a JD with an active bar license and over seven years of experience in technology law, ideally with cloud, infrastructure, or AI companies. Expertise in global privacy laws, export controls, IP licensing, and product legal support is essential. The role demands strong judgment, clear communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with AI/ML legal issues and technical fluency in AI infrastructure components are preferred. The position is based in San Francisco and offers competitive compensation and benefits.
