About the role
At Limbic, the Senior AI/ML Engineer role is part of the AI & Research team focused on clinical AI products for mental healthcare in the US. The company develops AI therapists and assessment agents that deliver therapy and clinical evaluations under licensed clinician supervision. Limbic is notable for its large-scale deployment of generative AI in healthcare and regulatory certifications, emphasizing safety and scientific rigor in mental health technology.
The engineer will take full ownership of AI quality in live clinical products, working closely with clinicians and product managers to design real-time voice and text conversational agents. Responsibilities include building agentic systems, safety mechanisms, evaluation frameworks, and productionizing ML models to optimize patient outcomes. The role involves cross-product collaboration and maintaining compliance with strict healthcare regulations while advancing AI capabilities.
Candidates should have a PhD with 2 years or a BSc/MSc with 4 years of ML engineering experience, strong Python and TypeScript skills, and expertise in LLM agent development and reinforcement learning. Experience with scalable ML architectures, cloud platforms, and version control is required. The position is hybrid based in London with some remote flexibility and occasional late meetings for US market coordination. Visa sponsorship is available for relocation.
