About the role
At Sarvam AI, the Infrastructure Engineer role is part of the CPU Infrastructure team responsible for managing the company's cloud infrastructure across multiple providers including Azure, AWS, GCP, and Indian sovereign clouds. This team supports the backend systems that power Sarvam's Indic-language AI products, handling Kubernetes clusters, networking, identity, secrets, observability, and deployment pipelines. Engineers on this team own their systems end to end and focus heavily on automation to reduce manual work.
The day-to-day responsibilities include managing infrastructure operations such as deployments, provisioning, access control, incident response, and cost management. A key aspect of the role is identifying repetitive manual tasks and automating them through scripts, pipeline jobs, Kubernetes operators, or AI agents. The engineer will also participate in on-call rotations, maintain security and reliability standards, and contribute to building AI-assisted automation tools that help streamline infrastructure management.
Candidates should have 2 to 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or backend engineering, with hands-on experience deploying and debugging Kubernetes clusters and scripting in Python, Go, or Bash. Familiarity with Linux command line, Docker, Git, and CI/CD is essential. The role values a proactive mindset focused on eliminating manual toil and improving platform reliability. Experience with Terraform, cloud platforms, monitoring tools, and real-time media technologies is a plus. The position is onsite in Bengaluru and offers growth opportunities into platform engineering.
